Acceptable Use Policy
Common sense, written down. Use the platform honestly, don't try to game competitors, don't misuse Rev's output as professional advice, and don't scrape our data.
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") applies to all users of restay, including free audit tool users and paid subscribers. This policy works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there's a conflict, the stricter requirement applies.
By accessing or using restay, you agree to comply with this policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Permitted Uses
You may use restay for legitimate short-term rental (STR) management, including:
- Analyzing and optimizing your own Airbnb listings using the free audit tool and subscriber dashboard
- Acting on Rev AI recommendations at your discretion to improve your pricing, listing content, or amenity offerings
- Sharing restay reports and insights with your co-hosts, property managers, or advisors
- Using restay data and analytics to inform your personal business decisions
- Staying informed about market trends through our intelligence briefings (where available to your tier)
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Access unauthorized accounts. Attempt to access or use another user's account, data, or features without permission.
- Circumvent security measures. Use methods to bypass authentication, authorization, or account restrictions.
- Reverse engineer. Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or discover the source code or proprietary algorithms underlying restay or Rev.
- Manipulate competitors. Use restay to harm competitors by intentionally submitting false data about their listings or properties.
- Scrape our data. Use automated tools or methods to scrape, extract, or bulk-download restay's proprietary analysis, reports, or processed data.
- Resell or redistribute. Resell, redistribute, or republish restay data, reports, or analysis as your own or as a service to third parties.
- Disrupt the platform. Engage in denial-of-service attacks, spam, or other activities that disrupt service for other users.
- Circumvent free-audit limits. The free audit is limited to one verified audit per email address. Creating additional email aliases, using temporary email services, or otherwise attempting to obtain multiple free audits for the same listing or the same person is prohibited.
- Analyze listings you do not own or manage. restay is for hosts and authorized managers. Submitting a competitor's listing URL, a listing owned by a stranger, or any listing you do not have a legitimate legal right to analyze is prohibited.
- Manipulate Rev. Attempt to extract restay's system prompts, internal methodology, vendor names, cost data, or trade secrets through prompt injection, jailbreaking, role-play attacks, encoded inputs, or any other adversarial technique.
- Misuse PMS write access. Where paid-tier PMS write-back has shipped for your account, do not use it to push changes to a PMS account you do not have authority to modify, or to make changes that violate the terms of your PMS provider or your listing platform.
4. AI and Rev Usage
Rev is an advisory AI assistant. Its output is not financial, legal, tax, or professional advice.
- Advisory only. Rev's pricing recommendations, listing suggestions, and market insights are informational. You are solely responsible for evaluating and acting on (or not acting on) Rev's recommendations.
- Don't misrepresent. Do not represent Rev's recommendations as professional financial, legal, or tax advice when sharing with third parties, guests, or business partners.
- Your responsibility. You are responsible for any pricing changes, listing edits, or other business decisions you make based on Rev's suggestions. restay is not liable for financial outcomes.
- Airbnb compliance. Don't use Rev to generate listing content, promotional material, or other output that violates Airbnb's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
5. Data and Content
When you upload or provide data to restay, you agree to:
- Accuracy. Provide only truthful, accurate information about your listings. Don't submit false or misleading data.
- Rights. Upload only data you have the legal right to provide. Don't upload data you don't own or control.
- Privacy. Don't use restay to collect personal data about guests or competitors beyond what's publicly available (e.g., from public Airbnb listings).
- No malicious content. Don't submit data or content designed to harm, defame, or harass any person or business.
6. Rate Limits and Fair Use
restay operates shared infrastructure. To ensure fair access for all users:
- API limits. Don't use automated tools or bots to make excessive API calls or requests beyond normal usage.
- Dashboard refresh rates. Respect dashboard rate limits. Excessive refreshing or polling may result in temporary throttling.
- Bulk operations. Large bulk operations (imports, exports, re-analysis) may be throttled or queued during peak times.
- No automation abuse. Don't use scripts or tools designed to circumvent usage limits or extract data at scale.
7. Enforcement
restay reserves the right to enforce this policy. We may:
- Suspend or terminate your account if you violate this policy
- Remove, edit, or restrict access to data or content that violates these rules
- Take legal action if necessary to protect our platform or other users
- Implement permanent bans for repeated or severe violations
We aim to be fair. Except in cases of severe abuse, we will attempt to notify you of violations and give you an opportunity to remedy the issue before suspension.

If you believe another user is violating this policy, or if you have concerns about misuse of restay, please report it:

- Include details: Describe the violation, provide usernames or account information if possible, and explain why you believe the activity violates this policy.
- Response time: We review reports within 5 business days and will follow up with you if additional information is needed.
